W06 Reflection: Entrepreneurial Journal

 I am at the end of week six in this semester. Each week has been thought provoking and informative. This week was no different. I enjoyed the readings and the videos. I especially appreciated the content centered around being an entrepreneur or business person, as well as having a family. I am a mother of three and have never wanted my work or my business to take away from my family. I think for many years I was under the false impression that in order to be the best mom, I needed to be a stay at home mom and nothing else. I am learning that it is more than possible to be a great mom while working on myself and achieving my goals. This time in my life I am busier than ever with the demands of my schedule. But I am finding that the time I am spending on doing things that bring me closer to my goals make me better. I am finding that being busy with good things, is a good thing. I am much more aware and intentional with my time and when I am with my family, that time is even more valuable. 

 

One of my favorite quotes from the reading this week was from Eldon Tanner. He said "There are those who complain that to follow the straight and narrow path requires limitations, restrictions, overcoming, and doing without things that are very tempting. We must remember, however, that it guarantees victory and achievement of our goal, which is gained by setting a goal and being able to concentrate and follow an undeviating course." 

I have gained insights this week that I will implement into my life. I am grateful for BYU-I and the way that I am able to study the gospel along with my regular subjects. It has been  a huge blessing in my life already. I am looking forward to the rest of the semester and the things we will learn. I believe that this class is making me a better person.

We've wrapped up another amazing week of school. Each week I keep thinking that the content of the course can't get and better, and each week it does. Thinking this week about how I will measure my life really sparked some deep thinking and reflection for me. A life well lived really is about the small things. It is about being intentional with our time. And it is about doing good. Last week we lost a young member of our ward. He died unexpectedly and was a young husband and father. His services were a beautiful reminder of the importance of our little choices. Listening to all the memories and good things people had to say about this man caused me to reflect on my own life. W14 Reflection: Entrepreneurial Journal Final Blog

  ·          If you had one final lecture to share with a group of students on what you have learned from this course, what would you share? This is not an easy question for me to answer, as I feel that this course has taught me so many valuable principles. I looked back through my notes and my journal, and I think that what I would share would be   centered around the fact that our little choices matter! Week after week as we studied and learned about entrepreneurship there were talks and resources that taught about the importance of making good choices, day in and day out. W03 Reflection: Entrepreneurial Journal

 It has been another great week of classes. I can't believe we've made it through three weeks already.  What did you learn from the  W03 Study: Honesty & Business Ethics  readings and videos? To be honest, at first glance, I expected the content this week to be a little boring. Having integrity is something that I have heard my entire life, and I would like to think that it is a regular part of my day to day. I was pleasantly surprised to actually enjoy the readings and videos this week. Many points were made that I had not previously thought about, and I enjoyed hearing different perspectives than my own.  After studying and learning this week, I have a new and deeper commitment to always have integrity.
