W04 Reflection: Entrepreneurial Journal

We've wrapped up another amazing week of school. Each week I keep thinking that the content of the course can't get and better, and each week it does. Thinking this week about how I will measure my life really sparked some deep thinking and reflection for me. A life well lived really is about the small things. It is about being intentional with our time. And it is about doing good. Last week we lost a young member of our ward. He died unexpectedly and was a young husband and father. His services were a beautiful reminder of the importance of our little choices. Listening to all the memories and good things people had to say about this man caused me to reflect on my own life. What would people say at my funeral? The things in the course materials this week really went hand in hand with that thought.  I do not want my life to pass with me just filling time. I have had seasons of life when I was doing just that, and it does not feel good or fulfilling. I want to put good into th...

W03 Reflection: Entrepreneurial Journal

It has been another great week of classes. I can't believe we've made it through three weeks already.  What did you learn from the  W03 Study: Honesty & Business Ethics  readings and videos? To be honest, at first glance, I expected the content this week to be a little boring. Having integrity is something that I have heard my entire life, and I would like to think that it is a regular part of my day to day. I was pleasantly surprised to actually enjoy the readings and videos this week. Many points were made that I had not previously thought about, and I enjoyed hearing different perspectives than my own.  After studying and learning this week, I have a new and deeper commitment to always have integrity. I loved the reminder or the warning to avoid living a double life. I am reminded about the importance to be consistent across all areas of my life, including in business. It is important for people to know what they are going to get, and that they know I wi...

W02 Reflection: Entrepreneurial Journal

Week two of this semester has been incredible. I have been hungry for the content and have taken the assignments seriously. I am grateful for the things we are studying and feel excited to implement them into my life. Here I will answer the specific questions for the week: Why do you think Randy Pausch was able to achieve so many of his childhood dreams? I think that Randy Pausch was able to achieve so many of his childhood dreams because of two things. The first thing that stood out to me, is his positive outlook on life! Knowing that at the time he gave his last lecture he was dying from cancer is pretty remarkable. You wouldn't know it, because he still had a spark and a zest of life. I think that when going after our dreams, our outlook on life can make all the difference. The 2nd thing that I think helped him in achieving his goals is that he seems to have grit. He understands that things are going to be hard, but you need to keep moving forward. My husband also has this qual...
